Snugful Pouch Privacy Policy

Snugful Pouch is an on-device-first multi-ledger bookkeeping app. This policy explains how Snugful Pouch handles your data. In short: your financial data lives only on your devices and in your personal iCloud. We operate no servers and cannot see your data.

What we don't collect

Snugful Pouch contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking components. We collect no device identifiers, do not track what you do in the app, and never sell any data.

All of your bookkeeping data (ledgers, accounts, categories, tags, members, transactions, budgets, recurring transactions, templates) is stored only on your devices and in your personal iCloud account:

• On-device storage: all data lives in a local database on your device; balances, reports, and budgets are computed entirely on the device.
• iCloud sync: with iCloud enabled, data syncs between your devices through Apple CloudKit, to your personal iCloud account only; shared ledgers likewise sync only to collaborators' iCloud. Templates (ledger / category templates) contain only structural configuration such as categories and accounts (names, hierarchy, icons) — no transactions and no balances — and likewise sync only to your personal iCloud.
• No backend servers: Snugful Pouch has no servers of its own; the developer cannot access any of your bookkeeping data. Your identity is hosted anonymously by iCloud — no account registration, no phone number or email required.

Voice bookkeeping

Voice bookkeeping offers two recognition modes with different data handling:

• On-device mode (default, requires Pro): recognition and parsing run entirely on your device (Apple on-device speech recognition and on-device language model). Audio never leaves the device.
• External mode (optional, your own API key): after you turn it on and provide your own Alibaba Cloud Bailian (DashScope) API key, during recording and recognition the following data is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/WSS) to Bailian for recognition and parsing: the voice audio and transcript text, plus the names of categories, accounts, members, tags, projects, and merchants in the current ledger (used for structured mapping).

External mode never sends account balances, transaction history, or data from other ledgers; the data sent is used only for that recognition and parsing, never for any other purpose. You can turn external mode off anytime in Voice Bookkeeping settings.

Exchange rates

Multi-currency exchange rates are fetched from public rate sources. Only public market data (currency pairs and rates) is transmitted — no personal or financial information.

Purchases and subscriptions

Purchase and payment for Snugful Pouch Pro are handled entirely by Apple (App Store / StoreKit). The developer receives and stores no payment information or billing records.

Data export and backup

• Excel statements and ledger backup files are generated entirely on your device; no network transfer is involved in exporting or importing.
• Ledger backups are password-encrypted (AES) by default. Whether and where to share a backup file is entirely up to you; sharing an unencrypted backup is equivalent to disclosing that ledger's full financial data to the recipient — we recommend keeping it encrypted.
• Template files (ledger / category templates) contain only structural configuration and names — no transactions, balances, or member information.

Permissions

• Microphone: used only while you are actively recording voice bookkeeping.
